RE: Jayco main cutoff switch question

Lof of mfg's wire these things differently. With the shore power line UN-Plugged, turn the switch off and see what works and what doesn't. (the switch might have a small green indicator light on it to tell if the rocker switch is open or closed.)Then turn the switch on and see what works and what doesn't. When I have my Dutchman plugged into power here at home, I leave the switch off to prevent "over-charging" the house battery. The a day or two before leaving, I turn it back on to give the battery a fresh boost. I also check the fridge on both gas and electric the same way. With the shore power un-hooked, and the disconnect switch "open", the fridge, furnace and water heater will not light on gas because they need the 12 vdc for their respective control circuits.

RE: fridge on propane

Very little. If it's not packed too full, and not opened 50 times a day, I would think a 30# tank would last 3-4 months easy.

RE: "Bubble" on roof!

Doesn't sound good. How far did you have to push it to get it to the suspect opening? IMO, you might have to cut a slit all the way back to the original site of the bubble, open up the slit and get it dry, then patch with eternabond. I'll be anxious to read what other readers have to say.

RE: selfish campers

You are to be commended for your patience. I'd have likely un-hooked my TT and hooked up to theirs. (if I had a TT)

RE: Levelling question - Help ASAP!

I don't want water standing in the shower pan hours after showering. I try to get level enough to eliminate that.

RE: Good Sam's Emergency Road Service -- Non-service

I've used them twice in three years and received excellent service. Both times I was in a position to wait. Being in the M/H, generator, fridge and bathroom facilities I'm sure made is less frustrating.

RE: Sewer Connention vs Dumping

My Gray and black tank valves are on the left rear but there is also a black tanmk isolation valve on the right "Immediately" at the tank. A nice feature I think.

RE: Emergency Road Service. Satisfied With Your Provider?

I used Camping World "Road Care" for the first time on a recent trip to Wisconsin. Blew a rear tire 30 miles from the CG. Drove on in, (slowly), called Road Care at 8 pm, set up the service for 9 the next morning so as not to disturb fellow campers. They showed up pretty close to on time and helped me.

RE: Pleased with gas mileage on my Dutchmen :)

I recently returned from a 3,000 mile trip to Wisconsin and back. I averaged 9.9. Not towing. Loaded with "stuff" also. 454 chevy.

RE: Sewer

I use 2 gallon milk jugs and a 4" wide strip of vinyl to hold my sewer hose in place for those instances where there is no thread to screw the 90 deg adapter in. Lay the 4" x 2' strip of vinyl over the sewer hose near the angle adapter. Fill the jugs with water. Set 1 on each side of the vinyl strip. That will provide approx 16 lbs of weight to help hold the hose down into the sewer pipe. When you're ready to leave the CG, dump the milk jugs. As the others have said. don't dump the black tank until it's near full, then flush with the grey tank.
